Dana Elementary Student Pledge

As members of the Dana community, we commit to the success of our school by making this pledge:

I will be a trustworthy person: I will be honest. I won’t cheat or steal. I will have the courage to do the right thing. I will be a loyal friend.       

I will be a caring person:  I will be kind and compassionate to others. I will say please and thank you. I will forgive others. I will help others.  I will think before I speak.

Is it True?  Is it Helpful?  Is it Inspiring?  Is it Necessary?  Is it Kind?

I will be respectful: I will treat others as I want to be treated. I will use good manners. I will not use bad language. I will be considerate of the feelings of others. I will not threaten, hit, or hurt anyone. I will take the time to communicate my feelings and will listen to the thoughts and feelings of others.

I will be responsible: I will think before I act or speak. When I make a mistake I will take responsibility for my words, actions, and attitudes. I will set a good example for others.  I will do my best.  I will be on time to school. I won’t leave school early.

I will be fair: I will play by the rules. I will take turns and share. I will listen to others. I will treat everyone fairly.  

I will be a good citizen: I will do my share to make my school better. I will obey school rules. I will respect my teachers and other staff members.

I will engage in scholarly behavior:  I will avoid distractions to my learning environment. I will have high expectations for myself. I won’t put myself down. I will do my best and I will remember that failure is normal!

Promesa del Estudiante de Dana Elementary

Como miembro de la comunidad de Dana, nos comprometemos al éxito de nuestra escuela haciendo esta promesa:

Yo voy a ser una persona de confianza: Yo voy a ser honesto/a. Yo no voy a engañar o robar. Yo voy a tener el valor de hacer lo correcto. Yo voy a ser un amigo/a leal.       

Yo voy a ser una persona que cuida:  Yo voy a ser amable y compasivo/a con los demás. Yo voy a decir por favor y gracias. Yo voy a perdonar a los demás. Yo voy a ayudar a los demás.  Yo voy a pensar antes de hablar.

¿Es verdad?  ¿Es util?  ¿Es inspirador?  ¿Es necesario?  ¿Es amable?

Yo voy a ser respetuoso/a: Yo voy a tratar a los demás como quiero ser tratado/a. Yo voy a usar buenos modales. Yo no voy a usar malas palabras. Yo voy a ser considerado/a de los sentimientos de los demás. Yo no voy a amenazar, golpear o herir a nadie. Yo voy a tomar el tiempo para comunicar mis sentimientos y escuchar los pensamientos y sentimientos de los demás.

Yo voy a ser responsible: Yo voy a pensar antes de actuar o hablar. Cuando cometa un error yo voy a tomar la responsabilidad de mis palabras, acciones y actitudes. Yo voy a dar un buen ejemplo para los demás.  Yo voy a hacer mi mejor esfuerzo.  Yo voy a llegar a tiempo a la escuela. Yo no voy a salirme de la escuela temprano.

Yo voy a ser justo/a: Yo voy a jugar con las reglas. Yo voy a tomar turnos y voy a compartir. Yo voy a escuchar a los demás. Yo voy a tratar a todos con justicia.  

Yo voy a ser un buen ciudadano/a: Yo voy a hacer mi parte para mejorar mi escuela. Yo voy a obedecer las reglas de la escuela. Yo voy a respetar a mis maestros/as y al personal de la escuela.

Yo voy a participar en comportamiento estudiantil:  Yo voy a evitar distracciones a mi entorno de aprendizaje. Yo voy a tener altas expectativas de mi mismo/a. No voy a ponerme abajo. ¡Yo voy a hacer mi mejor esfuerzo y recordaré que el fracaso es normal!
